For David's birthday we had dinner at Pizzeria Bianco. For those of you who haven't heard of it it is a small pizza place in downtown Phoenix which has been voted the best pizza in the US several times. Click here to see it featured on Oprah. It frequently has waits of 3-4 hours to get in. David and I arrived there at 330 on a Tuesday afternoon (it opens at 5) and there were already 25 or so people in line. Here's David in front of the restaurant.
Our neighbors in line were from Colorado and British Columbia. It was fun to talk to all the people while waiting. This is the line 1/2 hour before it opened.
We were lucky enough to get in at the first seating. The restaurant only seats like 40 people at a time. While we were eating I overheard the hostess tell someone the wait was up to 2 and 1/2 hours. Wowzer. The food was truly amazing though, especially the antipasto. Yes it was totally worth the wait and yes we will be going again. Yummy.

We have a Postdoc that just arrived in our lab from Phoenix. He said he tried, but was never actually able to get into this place.
So, how expensive is this pizza?
